I Have been railfanning pretty much all my life but in 1986 I suddenly realized that I could take pictures of trains! Influenced by a copy of Don Ball's "America's Railroads, the Second Generation" & "Railroad and Railfan Magazine" I bought a Nikon DSLR
My favorite spot has always been LaVergne at the west end of BN's Cicero Yard, but I ranged over the Western Suburbs and Southwest Side of Chicago.
I shot around 200 rolls of film between 12/86 and 8/99.
I caught a lot of cool pre-megamerger action but I have regrets that I missed a lot of opportunities!
I re-discovered rail fan photography in November of 2009 and bought a DSLR
Taking train pics is my favorite way to relax and have fun.
I love looking at other photographers work as well!
Hope you enjoy my shots!!!
